SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-320/93-07
This refers to the inspection conducted by Ms. 71. Evans, and Messrs. E. Conner, J. Nick
and L. Scholl of this office from November 1, 393 - December 17, 1993, at Three Mile
Island Unit 2, Middletown, Pennsylvania. Ms. Evans discussed the findings of this
inspection with Mr. E. Scheyder and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the
,
inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection focused on the Post-Defueling' Monitored Storage
i
(PDMS) Requirements and Commitments for TMI-2. These commitments had been
i
previously agreed upon in a letter from Mr. M. Masnik, of the Office of Nuclear Reactor
i
!
Regulation, to you, dated May 19, 1993. Based on the results of this inspection, the
j
commitments reviewed by the Region I staff were found to be satisfied to support entry into
PDMS.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and

its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
