.U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Mr. Hickey:
The purpose of this letter is to convey my support of the Claiborne Enrichment Center (CEC), to be located in Northern Louisiana. I have reviewed the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the CEC and support the cenclusions of the DEIS.
To remain competitive this nation must supply industry with competitive energy sources. Domestically produced nuclear fuel will help provide 20% of America's electricity economically. Reducing foreign dependance on uranium enrichment also supports this nations energy policy.
g The benefits of the CEC, both locally and nationally, far outweigh the minimal risks involved with the construction, operation, and decommissioning of the facility. Therefore it is my opinion that the NRC should expedite the licensing process for the CEC.
Sincerely,
[_7/.'
