Dear Mr. Hickey:
I am writing in response to NRC's invitation to public comment on the referenced DEIS; imy comments are as follows:
Both the overall and specific conclusions of the DEIS are correct and appropriate and are based 'on sound analyses. These conclusions should be reflected in the Final EIS; a Record -
of Decision s'upporting the construction and operation of the CECshould be issued.
In particular, I strongly endorse the DEIS conclusions.on the facility's potentialimpact.on the continued viability of the "well proven and energy _ efficient [ nuclear] technology".in the:
U.S and the role it can play in the nation's energy independence. These are paramount in establishing the need for the proposed facility.
