Dear Sir:

Re: Claiborne Parish Enrichment Plan of Louisiana Energy Services-In. the summer of 1992 my wife and I paid our own way to the. Netherlands-- and' spent a_ half day touring the enru.hment facility at Almelo. ;We were completely satisfied that the plant was harmless.

It was right there in the middle of:a.

very populated area with people and animals all around.

There many years!

~

My only concern was the disposal of the tails, which seemed to be in storage there on the plant' site and accumulating over a long period of time.-

j I have now read enought of the DEIS report to find-that the DISPOSITION OF THE TAILS is addressed in the licensing conditions and I am very pleased.

Mrs. Kendrick and I can endorse the location of the plant wholeheartedly and urge the Nuclear' Regulatory Commission to grant'the' license.

I have attended most of the meetings in protest of the plant and from the very first the opposing speakers have talked about the uranium conversion i

facility near Gore Oklahoma.and about the-affect that the,PVC's produced at certain governemnt enrichment plants where the PVCS were dumped upon the ground.

I finally-learned that nonefof these objections even apply to the.

1 centrifugal enrichment process. Or that PVC is no longer'even in the pictura.

Apparently after many safety concerns and the disposition of the tails have been resolved satisfactory, the opposition has tried to introduce a racial' bias into this matter and we regret this very much..

Mrs. Kendrick and-I look forward to the construction and operation of the-LES facility.

Your very truly, l
