U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn:

Document Control Desk Washington DC 20555

Dear Sirs:

Commitment Date Revision In our response to a Notice of Violation dated April 4, 1990 Portland General Electric Company committed to amend the Trojan Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) by August 31, 1990. This letter is to inform you that a management decision was made to defer the amendment until October 3?,1990.

This decision was based upon the necessity to continue using engineering per 'onnel to resolve priority issues that contributed to our extended refueling outage and preparation for the NRC Electrical Distribution System Inspection team visit.

Pursuant to Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 50.71(e)(4),

Portland General Electric Company is in compliance with the requirement of an annual revision to the Final Safety Analysis Report.

The amendment currently scheduled for October 31, 1990 will be our second update issued this year.

Sincerely, m[
