NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 70-734/93-06 This letter refers to'the' routine inspection condacted by Messrs. C. A. Hooker and R. K. Brewer of this office on September 13-1/, 1993.. The inspection' included a' review of activities authorized.for your General Atomics facility in San Diego, California. At the conclusion lof the inspection the findings were discussed with those members of your staff. identified in the enclosed-report.
Areas examined during this inspection are described.in the enclosed inspection-report. Within these. areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with 1he personnel, -and observations of activities in progress 'by the inspectors. :
purpose of the inspection was to determine whether activities authorized by.
the license were conducted safely and in accordance with_NRC requirements.
Based on the results of this inspection, certain.of your activities appeared to be in violation of NRC requirements. The inspection report describes two violations that are not being cited because the criteria specified in Section l
VII.B of. the Enforcement Policy were satisfied.-
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of tile ?.ommission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be )lacedln the NRC's Public Document Room.
