At 1030 hours0.0119 days <br />0.286 hours <br />0.0017 weeks <br />3.91915e-4 months <br />, on October 19, 1993, the Meteorological Instrumentation channel-for 197-33 feet Delta T was declared inoperable due to suspected inaccurate readings based on computer output from other meteorological channels.
This condition was found during perfonrance of a routine meteorological data evaluation. The channel was declared to be inoperable from 1200 hours0.0139 days <br />0.333 hours <br />0.00198 weeks <br />4.566e-4 months <br /> on October 15, 1993.
The Off-Site Dose Calculation Manual Action Statement requires the inoperable channel to be restored to operable status within 7 days.
ACTICN TAKEN The meteorological monitoring instrumentation service contractor, TRC Environmental Corporation (TRC), was contacted to troubleshoot the channel on October 18th.
Arrangements were made for TRC to provide technicians to Investigate the problem the norning of October 21. On the norning of October 21, TRC informed the plant that they would not be able to cl.bnb the meteorological tower until October 25, because of the rain projected to last all day (10/21) and high winds forecast for the October 22. On October 25, TRC arrived and began to troubleshoot the channel.
i During the time the channel was inoperable the backup tower delta T channel was operable.
CAUSE_OF_THE INOPERABILITY_
The root cause of the inoperability was attributed a ceased aspirator notor located at the top of the tow 3r.
t SCHEDULE FOR_RESIORATICN The motor was replaced in kind.
The channel was declared operational at 1350 hours0.0156 days <br />0.375 hours <br />0.00223 weeks <br />5.13675e-4 months <br /> on October 25, 1993, during the report preparation period.
