Submittal Supporting Accelerated ABWR Schedule - LCO 3.8.1,3.8.4 and 3.8.7
Dear Chet:
Enclosed find LCOs 3.8.1,3.8.4 and 3.8.7, and their associated bases, incorporating agreements recently reached between NRC staff and GE.
In LCO 3.8.7, we have combined Conditions A and B from the P&R version dated August j
31,1993, into one condition. The inverters, which support the vital AC buses, serve the same loads (RPS/MSIV controllogic, NMS, and the PRRM) that are controlled by technical specifications. Divisions I and 11 power the scram and MSIV pilot solenoids but these are fail-safe loads (i.e., loss of either division of vital AC will not result in reactor scram nor isolation).
Please provide markup comments, if any, as soon as possible. Also, please provide copies of this transmittal to Mark Reinhart and Jim Lazevnick.
