Subject:
' Application for License to Export Components for Nuclear Reactor to Yugoslavia
Dear Mr. Peterson:
E General Atomics (GA) has a contractual obligation to supply certain minor components for Yugoslavia's Mark Il TRIGA Research Reactor at the Institut "Josef Stefan". The export is for the purpose of replacing and upgrading components as detailed on the enclosed application. Unfortunately, to meet the Institut's schedule for ceasing reactor operations for
. the installation of the new components, GA would have to ship immediately. Consequently, GA has an urgent need to obtain the requested export license as expeditiously as possible.
1 GA understands that the time to obtain the requested license will depend largely upon the i
length of time it takes to receive the required letter of assurance from the Yugoslavian government. Accordingly, GA will so advise the Institut "Josef Stefan" and request that they.
maintain liaison with their appropriate governmental office so as to provide whatever assistance possible toward expediting the letter of assurance.
l Thank 'you for your prompt attention to this request. If you should have any questions, please contact me at (619) 455 2823.
4 Very truly yours,
