SUBJECT:

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REQUEST - TRANSPORT OVER EARTH DAM The Yankee Rowe Atomic Power Plant intends to transport four overweight steam generators from their site to a rail head at the Hoosac Tunnel in Massachusetts.

The steam generators will be transported on a special heavy haul vehicle.

Before leaving the applicant's site, the shipments must cross an earth dam which is owned by the applicant.

We request your assistance in reviewing the adequacy of the dam for the overweight shipments.

It would be helpful if you could review the information submitted by the applicant within the next two weeks. We have informally discussed this matter with Mr. Dan Gi'len and Mr. Don Rom of your staff.

Ms. Nancy Osgood (504-2459) is the Project Manager for our review of the application.
