SUMMARY

OF MEETING WITH BABC0CK AND WILC0X CONCERNING KINETIC SLEEVES On September 29, 1993, the NRC staff and senior management met with representatives of Babcock and Wilcox (B&W) and industry to discuss the generic implications of the McGuire steam generator leak (through a B&W kinetic sleeve) for similar sleeves installed at other facilities. Meeting attendees are listed in Enclosure 1. The meeting handouts are provided as.

Enclosure 2.

The United States operating reactors that could be potentially impacted by the i B&W kinetic sleeve issue are McGuire Units 1 and 2, Catawba Unit 1, ANO Unit l 2, and V.C. Summer. The staff is currently drafting an Information Notice on i i this subject and determining what additional actions are necessary for the I subject facilities.
