-As a practicing physician in Claiborne Parish, I read with interest the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Claiborne Enrichment Center.
I am pleased to see'that the I;RC concludes that the CEC can be constructed and operated with small and acceptable impacts on the public and the a
environment.
With inc.ustry of this type, the materials must be handled carefully to prevent injury to the personnel and those in the 4
surrounding area.
I am convinced that Louisiana Energy Services I
has the technical knowledge to construct this facility nd f
operate it safely so that it will not adversely affect the p
land, air,_or water in our parish.

I had the privilege of visiting two plants in Germany and the Netherlands similar to the plant to be constructed for Claiborne Enrichment Center.
In these plants, I was impressed with the emphysis on safety.
I visited with two physicians in the area and neither of them had found problems in their patients related to the plants.
Because of the great economic benefit for our area and the small and acceptable impact, I urge license authorizat.:'an at the earliest possible date.
