Dear Sir:
Attached is a proposed revision to the TMI-2 Fire Protection Program Evaluation (FPPE) reflecting modifications that are consistent with the forthcoming condition of TMI-2, i.e., Post-Defueling Monitored Storage (PDMS). This revision will be in effect upon entry into PDMS.
i The conclusion of Part I Section 3.2.2 of the FPPE is that an offsite release gmater than the limits specified in 10 CFR Part 100 would not result from any postulated fire scenario. This document further concludes (Part I Section 3.2.3) that this change is not an Unreviewed Safety Question as defined by 10 CFR 50.59 and, thus, it will not require NRC approval prior to its implementation when TMI-2 transitions into PDMS.
