ROUTINE RADIATION PROTECTION INSPECTION AT FERMI
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. N. Shah of this

office on December 6-10, 1993. The inspection included a review of authorized
activities for your Fermi 2 facility. At the conclusion of the inspection,
,
the findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the
enclosed report.
,
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within'
,
these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures
j
and representative records, observations, and interviews with personnel.
j
Several as-low-as-reasonably-achievable (ALARA) and source term reduction
t
initiatives were noted which contributed to your excellent radiological
performance. Additionally, good planning and preparation resulted in
effective implementation of the new Part 20.
t
No violations or deviations were identified during the inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
,
Public Document Room.
