Draft Environmental lmpact Statement for Construction and Operation of Claiborne Enrichment Center, Homer, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana In the above referenced draft, only two representatives were contacted concerning a crime problem in Claiborne Parish.
One is from the Town of Homer and one is from the Town of Haynesville.
Neither of these persons is connected with the area in question which is in the rural part of Claiborne Parish near Forest Grove Community.
As Sheriff, it is my jurisdiction in any matters per -
taining thereto.
Contrary to what they have stated, we do not feel that we are i
facing a high-crime problem arising from the drug trafficking of cocaine.
Claiborne Parish, like all other areas, does have its share of problems but not of the magnitude as expressed in the report.
The Claiborne Parish Sherif f's Department will, as deemed neces-sary, provide additional law enforcement personnel to meet any I
growth pattern during construction and further updates.
