The enclosed copy of the draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for the Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Ground-Water Project transmits our review comments as a cooperating agency for the UMTRA Ground Water Project PEIS process. Overall the document is well organized, well written, and well illustrated.
Several minor comments and editorial i
suggestions are included in the margins of the enclosed copy.
These comments are directed at improving the clarity of some of the general agency descriptions and enhancing the readability of Chapter 1.0 Purpose and Need.
The level of detail included in the remaining chapters and appendices appears.
adequate for providing a workable framework for the future site-specific Environment Assessments at the UMTRA Project sites.
