APPROVAL TO DEM0LISH OUTDOOR STRUCTURES
~ This letter refers to your verbal request, made to T.C. Johnson, of my staff, in an October 7,1993, telephone conversation, for approval to demolish outdoor area structures to include the sodium tent pad, the emergency generator building, the shield blocks, and the crosswalk adjacent to the Critical Facility.
Ba::ed on the results of gamma scan surveys performed by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (0 RISE) during the week of September 20 through 28, 1993, and the report entitled, " Radiological Survey of the Nuclear Lake Site, Pawling, New York," 0RAU 88/G-89, July 1988, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission hereby approves the demolition of the above listed areas.
Prior to releasing any of the materials in these areas, you will be required to conduct surveys as described in the " Decommissioning Plan for the Plutonium Facility and Multiple Failure Building of the National Park Service Property Located Near Pawling, New York for Chevron USA, Incorporated," which was approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on July 18, 1993.
