SUBJECT:

PART 21 CLOSE0VT REPORT ON VICT0REEN MODEL 960 CLASS IE MONITOR Victoreen, Inc. filed a 10 CFR 21 report concerning two containment; air i

monitor design deficiencies reported to them by Korea Electric Power Corporation's Kori and Wolsung plants (see enclosures 1&2). The reported deficiencies included; incorrect gasket material required to retain the l

electronic modules in place during seismic' events, and the failure. of the a

monitors internal electronic reset function.. The Vendor Inspection Branch l

requested PRPB resolution of the reported problems'.

We' find the vendor's. corrective actions to'be adequate to resolve the problems, which includes the vendor notification of all of their Model 960 i

customers (see enclosure 3&4).

Since the vendors corrective-actions appear to be appropriate, PRPB plans no further generic action on this matter. However, you may want to follow-up with your effected licensees to ensure these corrective actions are properly implemented.
