Dear Mr. Matthews:
In response to an earlier request by DOE, the Division of Low-Level Waste Management and Decomissioning has scheduled a meeting to discuss approaches for establishing alternate concentration limits at Title I uranium mill sites.
This one-day meeting is designed to provide information to DOE and solicit input on the methodology NRC intends to use to review ACL applications for Title I sites.
States, Tribes, and oti,er parties involi:ed in remediation of uranium mill tailings sites may also find the meeting useful. The meeting will be held at NRC headquarters,11555 Rockville Pikt, Rockville, Maryland on September 18, 1990. This advance notice is provided to allow time for those from outside the Washington D.C. area to plan to attend. More details on this meeting will be provided at a later date.
