This acknowledges receipt of your letter dated December 9,1993, requesting that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission extend the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on the proposed Claiborne Enrichment Center at least 90 days, throuf April 10, 1994. l Pending our decision on your request, we ar,t to emphasize that, to be certain that your comments are considered, you and any interested parties in communication with you should submit your comments by January 10, 1994. While NUREG-1484 is a lengthy document, much of the information contained in the document has been available for some time in the Public Document Room in Washington, DC and the local Public Document Room located in the Claiborne Parish Library, Homer, Louisiana. The DEIS has been widely distributed both nationally and to local officials and interested parties in Louisiana. Multiple copies are available for public review in the Claiborne Parish Library.
