SUBJECT:
COORDINATION OF LES PRE-LICENSING ACTIVITIES For over a year, coordination of the staff's pre-licensing activities for the proposed Louisiana Energy Services (LES) project has been handled through the several meetings with LES and by individual contacts.
However as the time becomercloserforreceiptofanapplicationforlicenses(stillexpectedin January 1991), and more staff are involved in interrelated activities, the coordination will be more problematical.
Ray Brady, Director of the Division of Security, has suggested to me that regular, monthly meetings among staff I
who have responsibilities on the LES project would be useful to maintain coordination in the future.
I agree with, and iny management supports, this 1
suggestion. Most of these meetings should be brief, and I plan that they be held at 9 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month, beginning on August 21 for at least the rest of 1990.
Representatives from NHSS' IMNS and SGTR, SEC, and OGC should attend all meetings.
RepresentativesfromRES,NRR(PTSB),
RIV, and other Offices should attend meetings as appropriate or upon request.
I will send a reminder prior to each meeting with notations about particular topics or requests for individuals to attend.
