i Dear Sir in reference (a) Commonwealth Edison submitted a proposed amendment request to revise the Dresden Station Unit 1 Technical Specifications to reflect its non-operating status. This letter is being submitted to clarify Bases Section (3.10.F) which describes the Dresden Unit 1 fuel pool water cualitij. Additionally it la being requested that this clarification be incorporated into t w riroposed Technical Specifications.
In reference (a) as currentiy written it can be implied that the Unit i fuel pool clean up effort has been completed. In clarification of this statement, the Unit i fuel pool

clean up effort is on-going and will continue for some time.

The following attachment provides the original proposed Unit 1 Technical l
Specification 3.10 F Bases section, and the revision whic h incorporates the clarFication to this proposal. This revision has been reviewed by the members of the originc., on-site review committee, as well as by off site review.
This revision affects the Technical Specification Bases only and does not affect the assumptions made in the reference document. Simila.-ly, this change has no effect on the basis for no significant hazards determination.
