MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLAT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 The following is submitted in reply to IE Bulletin 78-01:
1.
It has been determined that there are 185 G.E. type CR120A relays installed as safety-related equipment or in areas wherein fires have potential for damaging safety-related equipment at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant.
It has also been determined that 16 such relays exist in spares inventory. No CR120A relays are on order.
2.
Due to difficulty in observing the data code stamp on the relays when wired in place, it has been decided that the contact am retainers on all the relays will oe replaced with new Valox retainers without regard to what material the existing ones are made from. Since the majority of the relays were installed prior to June of 1972, it is likely that most existing contact arm retainers are composed of the Celcon material.

The replacement of all existing retainers with the new Valox retainers is expected to be complete by the end of our 1978 Fall Refueling Outage. The replacement program will include all applicable suggestions made in Item 3 of the IE Eulletin.
