On October 25 through the 29th,1993, a special electrical distribution system followup inspection was conducted at Big Rock Point by your Messrs. DButler and RWinter. By letter forwarded November 10, 1993, the inspection findings and conclusions were documented for Consumers Power Company's review.
The Inspection identified that the licensee could not produce any circuit drawings for the emergency diesel generator suction cooling water line heater; and were unsure how the test circuit operated. The inspectors considered the lack of heater circuit design information an engineering weakness.
The emergency diesel generator suction cooling water line heater (H-18) control circuit has been physically walked down, and as a result, a new BRP controlled drawing is being developed. The drawing number will be 0740E30869 sheet 5. Document Control is expected to issue this controlled drawing early next year.
