'l modifications ',o sensitized stainless ca:nponents of the reactor vessel. The safe ends for the recirculation outlet nozzles (NlA & N1B) are being clad on the ID surfaces with stainless.

Cladding of the OD surfaces of the safe ends was withheld pending a finding that the clad overlay would not interfere with ultrasonic inspection techniques. Laboratory work had now been completed to verify that this OD overlay cladding will not inter-fere with ultrasonic interrogation of the base material.
We, therefore, are proceeding to clad the OD surfaces of the safe ends for the recirculation outlet nozzles. The surface of the overlay will be ground to provide smoothness required to en-hance the ultrasonic examination.
