MONTICELIA NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 Extension of Time for Submittal of Analyses of the Spent Fuel Shipping Cask Drop Accident Your letter of February 4,1974, requested that we submit an analysis of the consequences of dropping a spent fuel shipping cask. The report of this analysis and any modifications found to be necessary to reduce the probability of such an occurrence, was to be submitted by May 1, 1974. Due to the need for a detailed structural analysis and systems evaluation, we are unable to complete the report within the time period that you requested. We expect to have the analyses completed and the report ready for submittal to you by October 1, 1974. We do not anticipate the need for spent fuel shipping cask handling operations until the latter part of 1975. Yours very truly, gd.
