u,

Dear Mr. O' Leary:

1 MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 This letter is to notify you of organizational changes within Northern States Power Company which relate to the corporate organization described in Figure 6.1.1 of Appendix A, Technical Specifications of Operating License No. DPR-22.

Effective June 1,1974, the NSP corporate structure has been significantly revised.

The Vice President-Power Production & System Operation and his operating organization (including the nuclear plants) now report to an Executive Vice President.

The Vice President-Engineering also reports to this same position.

This Executive Vice President also has broad respon-sibility for non-power supply functions as contrasted to the prior organization.

To provide the most effective functioning for the Nuclear Support Services Department under this new organization, it has been reassigned to report to the Vice President-Power Production & System Operation.

The independence of Nuclear Support Services from the Power Production Department and the Nuclear Plants is still retained with this organization.

Technical Specification 6.2. A.S requires that the Safety Audit Committee be advisory to the Group Vice President-Powcr Supply.

Since that corporate position no longer exists, it is intended that the Safety Audit Cort::ittee will be made advisory to the Vice President-Power Production & System Operation.

In the interim, we will consider the Safety Audit Committee to be advisory to the Executive Vice President until an appropriate Technical Speci ipn-ange request can be processed.

,h Yours very truly,

/
