i MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENEPATING PIANT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 Supplemental Infomation Relating to Torus Ring Header Supports This letter is written to supplement our letter of January 12, 1973 to Mr.
D J Skovholt which provided preliminary information on the Monticello torus ring header support design in response to his letter of December 13, 1972.
The results of General Electric tests and analyses to provide data to con-firm the adequacy of torus and ring header design for dynamic loads are contained in General Electric Report NEDO-10859, " Steam Vent clearing Phenomena and Structural Response of the BWR Torus." This report was sub-mitted by General Electric to the Directorate of Licensing (John A Hinds to D J Skovholt) on May 10, 1973. We have confirmed with General Electric i
that this generic report is applicable to the torus, ring header and ring i
header support structures at Monticello.
General Electric Report NED0-10859 addresses Items 1, 2 and 3 in Mr.
I Skovholt's letter of December 13, 1972.
Bas ' on the adequacy of design as presented in NED0-10059, we believe that no adi :ional response is required for the remaining items in Mr. Skovholt's letter of December 13, 1972.
It is requested that NEDO-10859 be appropriately referenced in Docket No.
50-263.
