nRC ACCEPTANCE OF PROPOSED REVISION 9 TO SARGENT & LUNDY TOPICAL REPORT SL-TR-1A (QUAllTY ASSURANCE PROGRAM)
This letter is in response to your submittal of October 9, 1992, providing, for NRC review and approval, proposed Revision 9 to the Sargent & Lundy topical report SL-TR-1A, " Quality Assurance Program." Revision 9 updates the topical report to reflect additions to the Quality Assurance program to perform certain types of inspection activities and related services of a safety-related nature for nuclear plants. A telephone conference was conducted with Sargent & Lundy on November 13, 1992, to discuss the submittal with the NRC staff. One confirmatory issue arose from the phone call, where Sargent & Lundy agreed to change the wording on Page 08-1, section 08.00, paragraph 08.01 to reflect the same mrding that was conveyed in Revision 8 of the topical report.
Based on our evaluation of the proposed changes described in Revision 9 and the confirmatory issue denoted above, the NRC staff finds the revised topical report continues to meet the criteria of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 and is therefore acceptable.
Please include a copy of this letter in the Revision 9 to the topical report and forward a copy to the NRC.
Your submittal should point out the changes by use of a black bar in the margin where a change is made, and tne revision number should be adjacent to the bar.
