Dear Ms. Sinclair:
Thank you for your letter dated August 3,1982, in which you ask that the Licensing Board pay the expenses of your expert, Dr. Charles Anderson, to accompany you and the Board on the site tour scheduled for August 14, 1982.
We regret that we are forbidden by statute from paying Dr. Anderson's expenses. Payment of those expenses is prohibited by Section 502 of the Energy and Water Development Appropriation Act, 1982 (the Commission's
~
current appropriation act), which bars our payment of any expenses of intervenors in adjudicatory proceedings such as this one.
Furthermore, in our opinion, adequate justification is not present at this time for our making Dr. Anderson (or anyone else) our own witness.
