'Ihis is to inform you that the M-2 General Project Design Criteria (GFDC) are being revised. 'Ihis revision (Revision 2) will incorporate the changes requested in NRC letter NRC/ M 018 (L. H. Barrett to J. J.
Barton) dated April 1, 1982, with the exception of Section 3.2.7.
NRC review and approval of this exception is requested.
The subject NRC letter states that environmental analyses should be based on river flow data as provided in the Off-site Dose Calculation Manual (ODW), instead of the information in the M-2 Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR). However, as there are no river flow data provided in the OD W, GPU proposes to continue using the current method of telephoning the USGS gaging stations at either Harrisburg or the York Haven Dam for the actual flow rate. In order to calculate postulated off-site doses due to liquid effluent releases for use in engineering designs or accident analyses, GPU proposes to use the mean, maxima, and minima data for river flow rate presented in the FSAR as these data are more appropriate in this case.
