This is a second interim report on a 10CFR50.55(e) event which was reported verbally to Mr. F. T. Daniels, Resident Inspector, on May 2, 1980.
As mentioned in our previous interim report, QA-1312, dated Msy 29,1980, in October 1979, the CG&E Company initiated a review of all field radiographs of piping welds. This review was completed in May, 1980. However, CG&E has recently experienced difficulties with preparing a final report regarding this review. The difficulties encountered are as follows:
1.
Lack of documented evidence that the personnel performing the review were qualified at the time in accordance with CG&E certification program.
2.
Lack of a documented program which details the scope of the review program and the methods for implementation.
3.
Lack of documented evidence that the review of radiographs was performed in accordance with the applicable approved procedures and/or codes and standards.
4.
Lack of documented evidence that appropriate corrective action has been taken 63garding those welds rejected during this review.

A documented program for this review process will be initiated by CG6E and the radiographs, as appropriate, will be re-reviewed by, or under, the direction of CG&E Quality Assurance.
This re-review should be completed by November 15, 1982, at which time a final report will be submitted.
We trust the above will be found acceptable as an interim report under 10CFR50.55(e).
