Dear Ms. Bonanno:
In response to your request and telephone conversations with Allan Mullins of my staff, I am enclosir.g a revised table which details the status of the uranium mills covered under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. This MOV required NRC and the affected Agreement States to complete the review and approval of detailed reclamation plans and schedules for final closure of non-operational uranium mill tailings piles by September 1993.
A new column was added to the revised table which indicates the date on which the NRC or Agreement State license was amended to add the reclamation milestones. A second column was added to indicate the radon barrier placement date currently in the license.

Licensee has requested an amendment for a one year extension of dates for placement of radon barrier on the two piles.
3Delayed pending resolution of issues raised in response to Esderal Reaister notice dated July 20, 1993.

5Two impoundments: large impoundment to be completed by 1996, small impoundment by 2001.
Final radon Darrier placement over the entire pile shall be completed within two years of completion of groundwater corrective actions.
6Date in the MOU is for final reclamation.
