Hydrocen Control Program Status (Continued)
On June 26, 1993, the staff issued a supplemental safety evaluation (SSE) addressing the issues raised by the Owners Group.
The staff concluded that the issues were consistent and compatible with 10CFR50.44 and were therefore acceptable.
On August 5, 1993, the staff issued plant-specific guidance regarding previous commitments made by Mark III owners to submit plant-specific hydrogen control analysis reports.
In lieu of submitting plant-specific analyses, the staff requested to be advised by letter of the completion date as well as any significant findings and conclusions.
In accordance with this guidance, Entergy Operations, Inc. is preparing for its plant-specific submittal.
This submittal will be made by January 31, 1994.
5.0 Status of Significant Issues i
The staff's evaluation of the ECOG change requests, and subsequent issuance of the supplemental safety evaluation, confimm closure of all outstanding i
hydrogen control issues.
On September 24, 1993, the Hydrogen Control Owners Group submitted to the staff its " Accepted Topical Report (HGN-112 - A). "
This report was provided in accordance with the reporting requirements delineated in the Mark III Containment Generic Hydrogen Control SER, dated August 10, 1990.
The report is a summary document of generic BCOG submittals that have been i
made to the NRC.
The HCOG has completed development of cll required generic Mark III information in response to and in compliance with 10 CFR 50.44.
Effective December 31, 1993, the HCOG will be disbanded and will no longer exist as a formal intorface with the NRC.
After that date, further discussions regarding 10 CFR j
50.44 should be made on a plant unique basis.
6.0 Planned Activities for the Second Quarter 1993 Entergy Operations, Inc. will continue with preparation of its plant-specific final analysis summary document.
This document will be submitted by January 31, 1993, and will thereby conclude implementation of 10 CFR 50.44.
