Dear Mr. Jankovich:
Regarding the above two references, I would like to clarify our intention regarding the Quality Assurance Program (Docket No. 7-0192) to be employed within our company subsequent to our acquisition of the ABB Impell Corporation. Reference No.1 states that projects which are in progress when the acquisition is finalized will be completed using the QA Manual and implementation procedures under which the contract was begun. In order to clarify our previous letter, please note that after approval by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the distribution of our revised QA Manual will contain instructions for the replacement of the existing QA Manuals. Existing QA Manuals will be superseded by the revised document.
The intention of our previous letter was to inform the NRC that the QA controls in place for a certain scope of work will not change subsequent to the merger. The implementation procedures which are currently being used to control the work will not be immediately changed after the j
merger since they will be fully compliant with our revised QA Manual.
