This Special Report is submitted in accordance with LaSalle Unit 1 Operating i
License NPF-11, Appendix B, Technical Speci fication 3.7.6 and 6.6.c.
Two fire zones contain unsealed penetrations in Unit 2.
The two zones are the Unit 2 Auxiliary Equipment Room, 4E2, and the Unit 2 side of the Turbine Build-ing Ground Floor General Area, SC11.
Review of FSAR Section H.4.2 indicates that the unsealed portions of zones 4E2 and SC11 would not affect the safe shutdown of LSCS Unit 1.
Further Justi-fication for Unit 1 operation with these zones incomplete is as follows:
1.
Hourly fire patrols shall be maintained in these areas until the fire seal installation is complete.
2.
The possibility of a fire originating in the Unit 2 portion of zone SC11 and propogating to Unit 1 undetected is very remote (the Unit 1 portion of SC11 is complete).
3 The remaining fire seals in zone 4E2 are scheduled for completion on or about August 1, 1982.
4.
The remaining fire seals in the Unit 2 portion of zone SC11 are scheduled for completion on or about November 1,1982.
