(1) RESPONSE TO NRC QUESTIONS, MIDLAND PLANT PHYSICAL SECURITY PLAN - REVISION 4 (2) RESPONSE TO NRC QUESTIONS, MIDLAND SAFEGUARDS CONTINGENCY PLAN - REVISION 1 Enclosures 1 and 2 of the referenced NRC correspondence of June 1, 1982 forwarded requests resulting from a review of the Midland Security Plan and Safeguards Contingency Plan.
In response to these NRC requests, we are forwarding one controlled copy of Enclosures 1 and 2 which provide a detailed response to each item of concern contained in the enclosures to the referenced NRC correspondence. Our enclosed responses take the form of proposed i
j revisions to the Midland Security Plan and Safeguards Contingency Plan, using the actual language we intend to incorporate into the next revision of these plans.

We believe the enclosed responses will resolve all NRC concerns and will allow
- l the Staff to begin review of the actual language of the changes to each plan without the administrative delays associated with a formal revision to these two plans. When we are certain that the Staff is in agreement with our proposed revisions, we will issue revisions to the plans within 3 weeks. We anticipate that this approach will expedite the licensing process for the Midland security program.
