Enclosed is an export license asplication from Westinghouse Electric Corporation, dated October 11, 1990, for tie export of mechanical plugs to Hungary and the Soviet Union.
The mechanical plugs are to be installed into various civil nuclear power plants.
Please note that the applicant's cover letter contains company proprietary information and will not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
This information should be given corresponding protection during the Executive Branch review process.
Before taking action on this request, we would appreciate your obtaining necessary assurances under Section 109 of the Act and receiving your views from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the proposed export meets the other applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.
