NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES 4

l At the beginning of the month, the plant was in a refueling shutdown.

On October 9, 1993, the reactor was made critical and low power physics l

testing was commenced.

On October 9, 1993, power increase was held at less than 2% for steam generator chemistry.

On October 12, 1993, power was held at less than 2% for reactor coolant pump 83 motor oil leak.

1 On October 12, 1993, power was increased to greater than 2%.

On October 12, 1993, power increase was held at 12% for condenser air-l in-leakage investigation, and Turbine Bearing 37 temperature excursion investigation,.

On October 13, 1993, began raising power to 15%.

i On October 13, 1993, the main generator was phased to the grid.

On October 17, 1993, power was held at 78% due to "A"

circulating water box out of service for circulating water system valve repairs.

On October 18, 1993, power reached 100%.

On October 22, 1993, power was reduced to 70% for repair of heater drain pump control valve.

The unit reached 100% on October 24, 1993, and remained there for the rest of the month.
