SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT (SQN) - UNIT 2 STEAM GENERATOR TUBE PLUGGING As required by SQN Technical Specification 4.4.5.5.a. this submittal provides notification of steam generator tube plugging during the Unit 2 Cycle 4 refueling outage. The in-service inspection of the steam generator tubes was completed on October-12, 1990. TVA will submit a special report of the results of this inspection on or before October 12, 1991. contains a summary of the tubes plugged in Unit 2 during this outage.
Eighteen tubes-were plugged with Westinghouse Electric Corporation Inconel 690 plugs. As a result of NRC Bulletin 89-01 concerns, the Westinghouse Inconel 600 plugs in'one additional tube were removed and replaced with Westinghouse Inconel 690 plugs.
The summary statement of the commitment contained in this letter is provided in Enclosure 2.
