i SilWR Units of Measure for Design Units of Measure for Desien: The units of measure used in all documents related to the SBWR shall be the primary system of units defined below. A secondary system of units, also defined

below, will be provided in parentheses after the primary units for all significant dimensions and other parameters in order to promote understanding by all parties. In the case of reports and other documents which contam detailed calculations, only important results and conclusions are required to have the values in the secondary system of units shown along with the primary system. An exception to the use of the primary and secondary systems of units described above will be in the case of a document which is based on prescribed analyses (such as the ASME Code) or computer codes which are defined in the secondary system of units. In this case the secondary system may be used throughout with the important results and conclusions shown with the primary system of units in parentheses. If a third system of units is used to generate such documents then both the primary and secondary systems of units will also be shown for the important results and conclusions.

Eri_ mary System of Units: The primary system of units shall be the International System of Units, as adopted by the Conference Generale des Poids et Mesures, or SI. The SI base units are the meter, kilogram, second, ampere, kelvin, candela, and mole. Supplementary and derived units in SI may also be used. The reference for the use of the Si system is " Standard Practice for Use of the International System of Units (SI) (The Modernized Metric System)",

l American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), E380.

Secondary System of Units: The secondary system of units will be the U.S Customary units.

Conversion Factors: The factors for converting between the primary system of units and the secondary system of units shall be consistently used. For conversion factors and further guidance on their application, the " Standard Practice for Use of the International System of Units" ASTM E380, shall be used as a guide.
