SUMMARY
OF MEETING 0F JULY 9,1982 WITH OPPD CONCERNING THE PRESSURIZED THERMAL SH0CK ISSUE (PTS)
Introduction This was a meeting in Bethesda, Maryland, on July 9,1982, of Dr. Steven Hanauer, NRC, and Staff with Mr. Ken Morris, OPPD, and representatives of Conbustion Engineering Co. (CE). The meeting was requested by Mr. Ken Morris for the purpose of identifying additional information which OPPD could provide in order to aid the staff in developing a regulatory posi-tion concerning the PTS issue. The attendees of this meeting are listed in Enclosure 1.
Discussion OPPD offered to provide any additional information which it could provide to aid the Staff in the development of a resolution of the PTS issue.
Such infonnation was not identified. The Staff indicated that a screening criteria was being developed which would be close to the Westinghouse pro-posal. This screening criteria would be proposed to apply to all PWRs.
