Radioactive Materials Shipping Package Registration Docket Nos. 50-206, 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 1,

2 and 3 This letter provides 10CFR71.12(c)(3) notification that Southern California Edison (SCE) will use a NuPac Model No. 14-190H Type A radioactive materials shipping package (cask) starting October 18, 1993.

This cask was approved by the NRC for use as a radioactive materials shipping package by issuance _of Certificate of Compliance No. 9159, Revision No.

6, issued to Pacific Nuclear Systems, Inc.

SCE has an NRC approved quality assurance program that satisfies the provisions of subpart H of IPCFR50.71 as required by 10CFR71.12.b.

The registration of SCE as a user of this cask will allow the shipment of low level radioactive waste to the Barnwell disposal site consistent with the 1993 schedule.
