Dear Sir:
l In the above referenced letters, Philadelphia Electric Company (PEco)-
notified the NRC of our intent to convert the existing custom Technical
-Specifications for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Units 2 and 3 to l
. the Improved Technical Specifications (ITS). The purpose of this letter is to reaffirm our intent, and to provide you with our current schedule.
Our efforts to-convert to the ITS are currently in progress. We are in the process of developing and reviewing PBAPS specific ITS which are based on NUREG 1433, " Standard Technical Specifications General Electric Plants, BWR/4." After our reviews are complete, we expect to submit during the third quarter of 1994 a Technical Specifications Change Request (TSCR) proposing the overall-conversion. We' anticipate six months for the NRC to review our TSCR.
"a recognize that this six month review period is contingent upon the number of deviations from NUREG 1433 proposed in the TSCR, and the status of the industry lead plant reviews.
>The effective date of the ITS for both units is expected to occur during the fourth quarter of 1995.
This will allow sufficient time for completing all implementation action items associated with the conversion.
Implementation action items. include activities such as training of operations and technical staff, the revision and development of procedures and the revision and development of programs. The proposed effective date is contingent.upon the completion date of the NRC review of the TSCR and any other implementation details unknown at this time.
