NRC APPRAISAL REPORT 99990004/93-01 This refers to the performance appraisal conducted by Dr. J. Blair Nicholas of this office during the period September 20-23, 1993, for the NRC/ State of Nebraska Environmental Monitoring Cooperative Agreement around Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station and Cooper Nuclear Station and to the discussion of the appraisal results with Mr. Richard H. Beck and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the appraisal on September 23, 1993.
Based on the appraisal results, your performance was found to satisfy the conditions of the cooperative agreement. We were pleased to find that you had made several improvements concerning the work performed under the cooperative agreement. We were particularly impressed with the quality of the annual reports which presented a direct comparison of the radiological environmental monitoring data from the state and the respective reactor utilities and the thermoluminescent dosimeter data from the radiation monitoring networks maintained by the state, NRC, and the respective reactor utilities.
