GNRO-93/ 00123 Gentlemen:
By this letter, Entergy Operations, Inc. (EOI) is submitting the attached 10 CFR 50.59 safety evaluation regarding the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) secondary containment. This letter is intended to keep NRR informed of changes to previous commitments made under the purview of 10 CFR 50.59.
The safety evaluation addresses an issue discussed previously in the attached correspondence from USNRC's Mr. L. L. Kintner to GGNS dated May 22,1989. One subject of the correspondence dealt with secondary containment drawdown requirements. This matter has been reviewed for impact to GGNS operations and nuclear safety per the enclosed safety evaluation.
Based on the guidelines given in 10 CFR 50.59, EOl has concluded that this change does not involve an unreVK. iafety question. This safety evaluation has been reviewed and accepted by the Mant Safety Review Committee.
