The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on the status of the AP600 and SBWR thermal / hydraulic test programs.
The Commission requested the staff to provide a proposed j
definition and elements of a program for maintaining our computer l
codes and associated technical expertise.

(SECY Suspense: 12/31/93) l The Commission requested additional information relative to the staff plans for the development of computer input models (for RELAPS, CONTAIN, TRAC-PWR, RAMONA, TRAC-BWR and the severe accident codes) of the ABWR, SYSTEM 80+, AP600 and SBWR nuclear power plant designs, including the proposed transients and accidents to be analyzed with each computer code.

The Commission commended the staff for an excellent presentation and an excellent program for supporting the staff's independent review and evaluation of the advanced nuclear power plant designs.
