SUMMARY

OF A MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 3, 1993, WITH TVA REGARDING PAST BFN LICENSING SUBMITTALS On September 3, 1993, representatives of the NRC staff and TVA met in Rockville, Maryland to discuss ways TVA might improve the quality and completeness of BFN licensing submittals. Meeting attendees are listed in. provides a list of the specific licensing submittals discussed during the meeting.

The purpose of this meeting was to go over some of the difficulties encountered by the staff during its review of the respective t

licensing actions.

Each submittal listed by Enclosure 2 was discussed in sufficient detail so that TVA could identify lessons learned to improve the quality of future BFN submittals. The staff and TVA also discussed administrative and technical elements of the licensing action process that could be improved to limit unnecessary delays and resource expenditures.
