SUBJECT:

TRANSFER OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR CIMARR0N,,0RPORATION, DOCKET 70-925 I

As a result of my June 21, 1993, memorandum to R. Bangart, LLWM, and the meeting held between R. Bangart, R. Bernero, and myself, it was decided that -

LLWM would assume project management for the Molycorp and Cimarron facilities.

Since then, Molycorp has been transferred to LLWM.

At this juncture, while further guidance oi. aew technical issues is being developed by LLWM, it is appropriate to transfer project management responsibility for the Cimarron license (SNM-928) to LLWM for direct action rather than to continue to relay information from LLWM staff through the FCSS project manager to the licensee.

Inasmuch as the originators of the current environmental assessment are located in LLWM, continuity on the disposition of this action would be further served by moving it to LLWM at this time.

Therefore, to increase the efficiency of the operations of our two Divisions and to complete the actions decided upon in the June meeting, I request you immediately assign a project manager for the Cimarron Corporation, Docket 70-925.

Gary Comfort will be available to transfer files to your assigned project manager and answer questions.
