I I have given this serious and important matter much thought and deliberation and have come to the conclusion that prompt Commission action is called for.,and that Option 3 is the preferred Option for the Commission.
1 I was very much impressed with the formulation of Option O because of the manner in which the employees who would be affected came forward with important suggestions for cost reductions.
Option O is a very attractive Option.
However, the much greater cost-savings which will result from Option 3 are just too large to be passed-up by adopting option O.
It is my belief that Option 3 will allow for a viable, if somewhat reduced presence on the West Coast.
I concur with the Chairman's comments and commend the considerable care all the Commissioners have taken to examine the various facets of this complex matter.
